With more than six years of expertise in project management and monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL), Thelma is an ardent African advocate for the rights of young girls and women. To ensure that underrepresented voices are heard and respected, her work focuses on empowering communities and assisting women human rights defenders.
Thelma has overseen a variety of initiatives throughout her career that have promoted sustainable development and social justice. In line with important Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 5: Gender Equality (Promoting the rights of women and girls and guaranteeing their participation in decision-making processes), Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities (Working to eliminate discrimination and promote equal opportunities for all), and others, her proficiency in MEAL has been crucial in improving project effectiveness and accountability.
Apart from managing projects, Thelma serves as a board member of multiple youth-led organizations within Africa, where she promotes youth leadership and encourages involvement in advocacy initiatives. Achieving the SDGs depends on her commitment to developing a new generation of knowledgeable and involved young leaders.
