At Safe Haven Foundation, we believe that systemic change is essential to creating a more equitable and inclusive society. Our advocacy efforts focus on amplifying the voices of marginalised communities, raising awareness about gender-based violence (GBV) and mental health issues, and driving policy changes that promote justice and equality. Through campaigns, policy influence, and community collaborations, we work tirelessly to build a world where everyone can thrive.

Our Advocacy Approach

Advocacy is at the heart of our mission. We work to:

  • Raise Awareness: Educate the public about critical issues like GBV and mental health.
  • Influence Policy: Advocate for laws and policies that protect and empower marginalized communities.
  • Foster Collaboration: Partner with organizations, governments, and communities to create lasting change.

Our advocacy efforts are rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to live with dignity, safety, and access to opportunities.

Our Advocacy Programs

1. Awareness Campaigns

Raising awareness is the first step toward change. Our campaigns aim to educate the public, challenge stereotypes, and spark conversations about GBV, mental health, and social inclusion.

  • What We Do:
    • Launch multimedia campaigns (social media, workshops, events) to reach diverse audiences.
    • Share stories of survivors and advocates to humanize issues and inspire action.
    • Provide resources and tools to help communities understand and address these challenges.
  • Impact: Increased public understanding, reduced stigma, and greater community engagement in addressing GBV and mental health issues.
2. Policy Advocacy

Systemic change requires policy change. We work to influence laws and policies that protect the rights of marginalized communities and ensure access to mental health services and support for survivors of GBV.

Impact: Stronger legal protections, improved access to resources, and a more equitable society.

What We Do:

Collaborate with policymakers to draft and advocate for inclusive, equitable policies.

Mobilize communities to participate in advocacy efforts, such as petitions and public consultations.

Monitor and hold governments accountable for implementing policies that promote justice and equality.

3. Community Collaborations

Change happens when communities come together. We partner with local organizations, governments, and grassroots movements to amplify our impact and create sustainable solutions.

  • What We Do:
    • Build partnerships with organizations that share our mission and values.
    • Support community-led initiatives that address GBV and mental health challenges.
    • Facilitate workshops and training to empower communities to advocate for their rights.
  • Impact: Stronger, more resilient communities equipped to drive change and support one another.
